Executive summary

A trusted technology partner to the C-suite.

I build resilient, compliant networks for regulated environments and high-growth teams. At Triumph Financial I led the Network Engineering function, modernizing from legacy MPLS and Cisco to a Fortinet-based SD-WAN and Nexus 9K core, standing up Azure hub-and-spoke transit, and standardizing observability and change practices. I now lead Network Engineering at Baker Botts LLP in Dallas.

Colleagues know me for calm incident leadership, vendor accountability, and cross-functional partnership with Security, Cloud, and Product. I combine deep networking expertise with matrix leadership across network, cloud, InfoSec, infrastructure, and telecom — and I’m recognized for board-level nonprofit service and volunteer contributions.

I’m energized by leading engineers through change — clarifying strategy, simplifying architectures, and turning roadmaps into measurable outcomes: reliability, risk reduction, and run-cost savings.

Leadership & strategic achievements

Outcomes that moved the business.

  • 01
Delivered 100% effective uptime across an SDWAN infrastructure of ~350 circuits supporting ~70 locations — ELT-approved, with bank president endorsement.
  • 02
Directed $2.5M+ annual network and infrastructure budget, aligning investments to compliance, growth, and cost-to-serve optimization.
  • 03
Founded and chaired the Enterprise Architecture Review Board, aligning network, InfoSec, cloud, infrastructure, telecom, ITSM, and SPMO on architecture and standards.
  • 04
Achieved 100% retention in a distributed engineering team through career development and succession planning — promoted one engineer to senior and one senior to lead.
  • 05
Launched a CTO-endorsed AI observability PoC (n8n, Docker) to automate detection, correlation, and vendor escalation — targeting fewer overnight callouts and faster MTTR.
  • 06
Maintained audit readiness and regulatory compliance (SOX, PCI, GLBA, SOC 1/2, FDIC) via proactive governance with InfoSec, cloud, infrastructure, and ITSM.
Key initiatives

Programs I’ve led.

PROGRAM / 01

Enterprise SDWAN Program

Achieved 100% effective uptime across ~350 circuits serving ~70 locations; aligned to BC/DR; approved by ELT with bank president endorsement.

PROGRAM / 02

AI Observability (CTO-Endorsed PoC)

Agent-based monitoring with n8n and Docker to automate detection, event correlation, and vendor escalation — reducing after-hours callouts and MTTR.

PROGRAM / 03

Tooling Consolidation

Reduced monitoring sprawl (SolarWinds, NetMRI, OpManager, WUG) by standardizing on LiveNX, Grafana, and ControlUp across network and VDI.

PROGRAM / 04

First carrier SDN/NFV services

As Director of Product Management at Masergy, brought to market the industry’s first carrier offering for SDN/NFV router and firewall services — a category-defining launch for software-defined managed network services.

Let’s talk about what’s next.

I’m actively exploring Director / Head of Network Engineering and Infrastructure leadership roles — Dallas-area or remote. If you’re building something that deserves great infrastructure, I’d like to hear about it.
